I did this by pouring drinking water on each protector, noting if it repelled or absorbed drinking water, and if it did absorb it, just how long it took.  The textured best gives the mattress pad a bit extra cushion. I did detect that the texture did adjust when the fabric absorbed the h2o. It didn't Permit any h2o get as a result of, but
